Coming in second, there’s the Residence Inn by Marriott, a hotel that, like the previous one mentioned, has an incredible 24-hour gym, fully-equipped kitchens, meeting rooms with available custom catering, and a rooftop pool with a gorgeous view of the Tempe. In addition to some of these amenities, it’s also located not too far from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which will make for an easier trip should you be coming from far.

The newly renovated Aloft Tempe hotel is the place to be, with its signature cocktail that serves guests a variety of food and specialty drinks. If that’s not your thing, there’s also a lounge with a pool table and a snack bar where guests can load up on coffee and scavenge other treats before heading out or turning in. What’s great about the Aloft Tempe is that, compared to the other two walkable hotels, this one is outside of the immediate sphere of ASU Tempe, so if you’re trying to get away from the campus, this is the place to be.

Comfort Inn & Suites Tempe Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport
Located less than one miles from Mullett Arena and four miles from the nearest airport, this Comfort Inn and Suites has some seriously affordable rates while not skimping on the luxuries. Some of the notable amenities include an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, free WiFi, and an on-site laundry facility where guests can wash a load of laundry. For how close this hotel is to Mullett Arena, this hotel definitely be on your radar.
Moxy Phoenix Tempe/ASU Area
Consistently boasting some of the best prices in town, Moxy Phoenix Tempe/ASU Area is the place to be. They’ve got some other things, too, that make for an interesting stay. Motel 6 Tempe, AZ – Broadway – ASU
Most can’t compete when it comes to prices as low as the Motel 6 at Broadway. While not lacking in the amenities department, they’ve got some of the basics covered, such as free WiFi, an outdoor heated pool, and free parking, which, as was mentioned previously, is not always a given with many of the other hotels near Mullett Arena. If you’re looking to save, look no further.
Motel 6 Tempe, AZ – Phoenix Airport – Priest Dr
A little closer to the airport, but further away from Mullett Arena, the Motel 6 at Phoenix Airport is similar to the Motel 6 at Broadway except it has slightly cheaper rates. They offer free WiFi and an outdoor heated pool, but, in our opinion, what you might save here might just be spent on the commute to Mullett Arena or to the airport. Do keep this one in mind, however, as it’s yet another great option with constantly changing rates.

Offering a noteworthy full breakfast buffet, you might just be glad to hear that the SureStay Plus Hotel also includes a has a fitness center. This hotel seems to lend itself well to extended-stay travelers, with its full kitchenette and sofa/living room set-up.
