Delta Center

The Delta Center is an indoor arena located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Home to the NBA’s Utah Jazz and soon to host the NHL’s Utah Mammoth starting in 2024, it’s a central hub for sports, concerts, and major events in the region. Positioned at 301 W. South Temple, it’s within walking distance of key city attractions like Temple Square, the Salt Palace Convention Center, and numerous hotels and restaurants.

Originally opened in October 1991, the venue was first named the Delta Center before undergoing several name changes over the years, including EnergySolutions Arena and Vivint Arena. In July 2023, the building returned to its original name as part of a renewed sponsorship deal with Delta Air Lines. The arena seats around 18,175 for basketball games, over 11,000 for hockey, and up to 20,000 for concerts. A major renovation in 2017 modernized the fan experience, and a significant reconfiguration began in 2025 to support both basketball and hockey without compromising on sightlines or comfort.

The Delta Center has a reputation for its electric atmosphere and intense fan support, earning the nickname “The Decibel Center” during Utah Jazz playoff games thanks to crowd noise levels reaching over 110 decibels. It was also a key venue during the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting figure skating and short-track speed skating under the name “Salt Lake Ice Center”.

Beyond sports, the Delta Center is a bustling events venue, attracting about 1.8 million visitors annually across more than 320 events, including top-tier concerts, family shows, and UFC fights. Also known for its fast construction (it was completed in just over 15 months).
